“Mine” and “Speak Now”

You better get used to both of the names above because it’ll be the title of Taylor’s new single and album, respectively.
In live chat, Taylor told us that Speak Now will be released on Oct 25. Meanwhile, the new single, Mine, will be released on Aug 16th.
Taylor’s official site, taylorswift.com has also been revamped to include this info.
If you missed the chat, you can watch it HERE

Here’s an article about the new single and album

Taylor Swift has confirmed the title of the lead single from her new album Speak Now.

During a uStream chat with fans, Swift confirmed that the album would be released on October 25.

Trailing that will be the single ‘Mine‘, which the 20-year-old described as being about her “tendancy to run from love”.

“It’s been sort of a recent tendency,” she revealed. “I think it’s because that, for me, every really direct example of love that I’ve had in front of me has ended in goodbye, has ended in breakups.

“I think I’ve developed this pattern of sort of running away when it comes time to fall in love and to stay in a relationship. The song is sort of about finding the exception to that and finding someone who would make you believe in love and realise that it could work out.

“I’m never, ever going to go past hoping that love can work out. I’m always going to be very hopeful and blindly optimistic when it comes to love.”

Speaking about the video, Swift added: “We shot the video in Portland, Maine, which was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. It was gorgeous. I absolutely fell in love with it. I went there and got to spend two or three days just falling in love with it.

“When I am old and I have silver hair. I want to live in Maine. I want to have a house and make necklaces or something, and have a lot of cats. It’s a whole fantasy for me.”

Swift will release ‘Mine‘ in the US on August 16.

Taylor and Owl City Collaboration?

Adam Young has stated in an interview with HitFix that he would like to collaborate with Taylor.

“I have talked to her. She’s so busy, but she said if there’s time, she said it’d be lot of fun,” Young explains. “There’s this weird hybrid country song I’m working on. There’s no title ’cause I haven’t made any lyrics yet. But that would be the one.”

The pairing isn’t firm, though Owl City’s management said there’s definitely “talking among themselves” for a collaboration. A rep for Swift said the singer is on the road and unavailable for comment.

On its face, the idea wasn’t inconceivable to begin with. Swift has been known to Tweet to her pal, and even showed up in the VIP section of his show in New York last year. And Young has said that her “Love Story” is the best love song he’s known (and, no, the two have never dated).

Summer greeting cards collection

American Greetings has launched Taylor’s summer greeting cards collection.

Check them out here.

Taylor Swift launched her first set of American Greetings cards earlier this year, and now the 20-year-old star has a whole new collection of stationery that’s perfectly suited for the summer.

Written and inspired by the singer herself, the new line has 14 fresh designs that echo Taylor’s honest sentiments and cover plenty of occasions. The summery images have a “traditional with a twist” look, and each card comes with a numbered butterfly icon, which is great for fans who want to collect each of the 43 cards in Taylor’s line.

Nashville Rising Concert: fan photos and story

Michelle and her daughter, Sophie, went to the Nashville Rising Benefit Concert. Michelle sent me some pictures from the gig. Thanks Michelle!

Here’s their story. Sounds like they were having great times. (:

I brought my 13 year old daughter, Sophie to the Nashville Rising concert. I had been trying to get her tickets for Taylor Swift forever, her most favorite singer in her long 13 years on this earth! She has been singing Taylor’s songs in every talent show at school or any place she can. Sophie runs down the stairs every time tickets open up for her concerts telling me how many minutes it took to sell out for the show!

The only tickets I could find available were the Nashville Rising Concert tickets. When I found out the seats she would want (the closer floor seats) were the seats that had to be bid on I didn’t have much hope of winning any. After I bid on them and was actually fortunate enough to win them I was afraid Sophie would not like it because of all the other country stars that would also be there. She “thinks” she is not a fan of country music but………I had been listening to her play along with Taylor Swift Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Uncle Kracker, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, and Miley Cyrus in her room. I told her I hated to break the news to her but “she has been listening to country music”!

I waited to give her the tickets on her 13th birthday at the beginning of June. It was her most favorite gift of the year! This was the first time I have ever done anything with my daughter – just the two of us and it was the most amazing night I can remember!! My husband is in the military and is an instructor at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He had class that week so I had to drive the kids (3) by myself to Kentucky to stay with my parents. They live 1 1/2 hours from Nashville so I guess we made it a concert and trip to grandmas house!

I got to see my 13 year old daughter who rarely gets off her Face Book, I pod, out of her room, give us a smile or laugh have the most amazing night of her life! That meant more to me than even getting to see Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan!! It was an awesome well put together concert. It was a very amazing and special night for us.

Thank you Taylor for being a part of this benefit. Without you we never would have even know about it. I really enjoyed Taylor’s performance but we also got amazing performances from so many others that evening. It was so great to see all the people that are willing to pitch in a and help their community. It is unfortunate we don’t have a lot more of those people to spread out around the USA!

Again, thank you Michelle (and Sophie) for sharing with us.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July for all of our American visitors.

Here’s an article from OK Magazine about how Taylor used to celebrate Independence Days.

Before Taylor Swift was famous, she celebrated her Independence Days in New Jersey.

“I spent my summers at the Jersey Shore,” she tells me. “There was a Fourth of July parade, and we lived on the bay. All these boats would pass our house and we would try to hit them with water balloons with a slingshot.”

Did she ever hit them?

“All the time! It was a yacht club parade, so all the elite were dressed in their best. We would try to hit them with water balloons.”
